GITF’s long-term goal is a learning community of more than 50,000 students and staff, where every child has a continuous path from school to career. The plan includes free residential schooling from Grade 5 to 12, and a free residential polytechnic offering technical and vocational skills after Grade 10. It also includes free residential colleges for Arts, Science, Commerce and Computer Applications, and for Music, Dance and Theatre. A sports academy and coaching camps will help young athletes in the Northeast develop their talent.

Growth will reach the wider community too. Local bamboo crafts will be marketed in India and abroad through ISKCON and Akshaya Patra. Organic agri-farms will supply the Akshaya Patra kitchen and connect children with nature, while floriculture and horticulture projects strengthen local livelihoods.

The model is already moving beyond the Northeast. In Bengaluru, Akshaya Vidya brings the same promise of free, holistic education to children from low-income urban families, and GITF plans to expand into more states.
