Our Raison d'etre
GITF Rationale
India's progress depends on unlocking the potential of its rural children. The Great India Talent Foundation (GITF) was established to bridge this gap by providing free, holistic education that empowers children through learning, life skills, and opportunity.
Our first Great India Talent School (GITS), in Kashirampara, North Tripura, serves children from the Reang tribal community. Our second School Akshaya Vidya, Bangalore serves the rural and underprivileged of Bangalore. Along with quality English-medium education, students receive residential care, textbooks, uniforms, nutritious daily meals, and a safe environment to learn and grow.
Supported by The Akshaya Patra Foundation, GITF ensures that no child has to learn on an empty stomach. Beyond academics, students develop communication, critical thinking, emotional intelligence, leadership, and problem-solving skills through sports, cultural activities, educational visits, and exposure to the wider world.
THE GREAT INDIA TALENT SCHOOL, TRIPURA
Our first school
GITS is also a prime example of the role of the community in socio-economic development, with the Reang women wholeheartedly participating in various school activities.
Kashirampara is a small village located approximately 190 km from Agartala, Tripura. In this village, overlooking the Jampui Hills, lies the Great India Talent School (GITS), an initiative of the Great India Talent Foundation (GITF). The school is set up to support children of the Reang community by providing them free education and an opportunity to carve a better life for themselves.
The initiative has not only led to access to education for children but has also generated employment for the community, with five of the nine teachers belonging to the Reang community.
More than 500 children, predominantly from Naisingpara and Ashapara refugee camps, have benefitted from GITS being set up in this area. Many of these children walk for miles, traversing hills and valleys to reach the school. Besides free education in English medium, the school also offers free textbooks, uniform, and shoes. Children are also provided freshly cooked nutritious school lunch by Akshaya Patra.

Our second school
Akshaya Vidya provides free, quality education to children from low-income urban and rural families who remain excluded from opportunity despite living minutes from some of the country's best-resourced institutions.
Bangalore’s growth story hides a quieter truth: proximity to opportunity does not guarantee access to it. For many urban low-income families, the cost of quality schooling — fees, uniforms, transport, materials — creates the same exclusion that geography and infrastructure create elsewhere in India. Akshaya Vidya exists to close that gap.
Who we Serve
Akshaya Vidya serves children from Bangalore’s underserved urban communities — families for whom quality education remains structurally out of reach, not by distance, but by circumstance.
