To create a large learning community with features of comprehensive rural development through education and skill development.

Mission

GITF aspires to educate, enable, and empower children of rural communities in India by setting up multiple educational institutions that will provide them with the options to pursue higher education in their fields of interest.

Objectives

The Great India Talent Foundation works to make quality education a reality for children in rural and tribal India. We do this by building free schools that meet every need of learning: lessons, meals, books, uniforms and care. Our aim is a continuous path of learning, from primary school to higher education.

Our Impact

Access to education should not depend on where a child is born.

Great India Talent School (GITS), Kashirampara, Tripura

Established in 2017, GITS is GITF’s flagship school serving children from the Reang tribal community in Tripura. Addressing barriers such as geographic isolation and limited educational infrastructure, the school provides free education, nutritious meals, uniforms, books, and learning materials. With 500+ tribal children enrolled yearly, GITS integrates education, nutrition, and holistic development to expand opportunities for long-term social and economic mobility.

Akshaya Vidya, Bengaluru
Many children in Bengaluru live minutes from some of India’s best-resourced schools, yet their families cannot afford them. Akshaya Vidya aims to address this affordability gap in Bengaluru. By reducing financial barriers to schooling, the initiative seeks to nurture academic potential, essential life skills in its students.

GITF students meet the President of India

Recognised at Rashtrapati Bhavan: GITF students met the Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, in 2022.

New GITF block inaugurated by the Governor of Tripura

Expanding our reach: A new GITF block was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Governor of Tripura, Shri Indra Sena Reddy Nallu, in 2026.

Our Approach

Children learn best when their basic needs are met. Our approach supports the whole child, and the whole family

We Build Schools

We establish schools where they are needed most, in communities that quality education has not reached. At every GITF school, tuition, uniforms, stationery and books are free for all students.

We Educate

Our CBSE schools serve children from daily-wage and low-income families. Teaching is designed to address language barriers, so that every child can participate fully in learning. Our campuses are ICT-enabled and our regular educational trips ensure children are exposed to the world and inspired by it.

We Nourish

Children cannot learn when they are hungry or unwell. We provide free, nutritious breakfast, lunch and dinner, along with free medical care, immunizations to support every student’s health and well-being.

We Support Families

We employ the parents of our students. This strengthens household stability and gives the whole family a stake in a better future. This also ensures that the community also grows.

GITF runs two schools — GITS in Tripura and Akshaya Vidya in Bangalore

Akshaya Vidya Bangalore

For many low-income urban families, the cost of quality schooling is out of reach. The result is the same exclusion that geography and infrastructure create elsewhere in India. Akshaya Vidya serves children from Bengaluru’s underserved urban communities: families for whom quality education has remained structurally out of reach.

GITS Tripura

Most children at GITS are first-generation learners. The majority belong to the Reang tribe, and many come from families living in the Naisingpara and Ashapara camps in Tripura. For these children, a school of this standard represents an opportunity their families have not previously had.
